According to VIAC's Rules of Procedure, the Arbitration Council may consist of 3 arbitrators or only one arbitrator. If the parties do not have an agreement on whether the dispute is resolved by the sole arbitrator, then the dispute shall be resolved by the arbitral council consisting of three arbitrators.

The parties may participate in arbitration proceedings directly or authorize their representatives to participate in the proceedings at VIAC.

The parties are free to agree about:

- Arbitration location;

- Language arbitration proceedings;

- Appicable laws to the dispute.
